The Village Sign

Tharston has a distinctive village sign. It is believed that it was designed by a Mr. Thompson. The iron work was undertaken by Basil Tunmore, who lived in the village, and was built by Simon Millington in 1989.

Also at this site was a victorian post box but unfortunately it was stolen. "Two Victorian Post boxes have been stolen in the past week, one from Surlingham Road Bramerton and the other from Parkes Lane, Tharston. The thefts were reported to police on Monday 20 May and anyone with information is asked to call 101."
