Farmers & Farming

To find out who were the farmers in Tharston you could look to historical lists and documents. One source of these are Trade Directories. For Tharston there are 12 individual directory entries transcribed and from these the names of farmers can be extracted. Also, the Census Returns of 1841 to 1911 noted the occupation of those recorded and a list of farmers could be extracted from these.
